Benefits of Omega 3, 6 and 9. These fatty acids provide many benefits for our health, and of course, we can have problems if we do not consume them on a regular basis, either in our diet or supplements.
Today we are going to talk about these Omega and the food we can get them from, I hope you like today's video.
What are omega 3 fatty acids?
Omega 3 fatty acids are a series of fatty substances that we take in the diet that belong to the group of polyunsaturated fatty acids, and that are related to alpha-linolenic acid. Omega 3, 6 and 9
Thanks to them, the risk of cardiovascular disease is reduced. They intervene in the reduction of cholesterol transported in low density lipoproteins (bad cholesterol), and facilitate the increase of high density lipoproteins (good cholesterol) that cleans the arteries instead of damaging them.
This is a fatty acid called "essential" because our body is unable to manufacture it, and it has to be taken with food.
Omega 6 fatty acids are other essential fatty acids that, in combination with Omega 3, help metabolize and use them to produce many health benefits. The most important (and difficult) thing is to take them in the correct amounts.
The best sources of Omega 6 are seeds, nuts, pistachios and green leafy vegetables such as lettuce, broccoli or kale. It is also present in grapes and some raw vegetable oils, such as olive, sunflower or rapeseed oil.
The main omega 9 fatty acid in our diet is oleic acid, the main component of olive oil and canola oil.
In general, omega 9 are found mainly in vegetable oils such as olive and canola oils, in almonds, hazelnuts, nuts and olives.
