Royal Brothers Visit Star Wars 8 Set

The cast and crew of Star Wars Episode 8 get a visit from the Royal Brothers and we’ve got the photos! Move over Princess Leia, there’s a new Royal Family travelling to a galaxy far, far away. Production on next year’s highly anticipated Star Wars Episode 8 is currently underway in London and today the cast and crew got a visit from Royal Brothers, Prince William and Prince Harry. William, who is president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, visited the Pinewood Studios set outside London with his brother as a way of recognizing the amount of British creative talent that is going into making the next Star Wars film. The pair had a chance to meet with director Rian Johnson as well as cast members including Mark Hamill, who of course plays “Luke Skywalker” in the film. Hamill and William spoke about the production before Hamill gave Harry a quick lesson on piloting a starfighter. The pair also had a chance to meet with cast member Daisy Ridley and get a look at her personal head cast before fulfilling a likely childhood dream of having a lightsaber duel. Cast member John Boyega was also on hand to meet the Royals, but we’re guessing there were two other members of the cast that they were most looking forward to meeting; BB-8 and Chewbacca. William got a chance to come face-to-face with the fan favorite droid and presumably get a thumbs up while Harry got a hug from Chewbacca. Perhaps Harry reminds him of Han? Probably not, but at least it made for a memorable moment. William and Harry ended their tour posing with the cast and director in front of an X-Wing.
